Chinari village in Tavush region is just 1.5 kilometers away from the border with Azerbaijan. The whole village is in a constant target of snipers. The villagers have to live mainly in the basements of their homes, but the only source of their livelihood is the crop available from the agricultural activities. It is impossible to get used to this reality but they have to adapt. They are not able to operate machines as they don’t have such; they do all the work by hand. Thanks to one of Diaconia Charitable Fund’s implemented programs, the village received a drill and a potato-planting machine and they already can cultivate land with the help of this agricultural machinery. The agricultural machinery is the Fund’s gift to the community; it is the property of Chinari community.
